Explanation:
Antibiotic eyedrops are first-line treatment for ocular rosacea. The most common one would be 0.3% tobramycin or 0.3% tobramycin plus 0.05% dexamethasone. Patients can apply 0.3% tobramycin plus 0.05% dexamethasone to the eyes nightly for three weeks. Flaxseed oil by mouth has also been recommended. Ciclosporin, an immunosuppressant that inhibits T-cells, is considered as a second-line treatment. Additionally, omega-3 fatty acid supplements have been shown to help with meibomian gland dysfunction and are a second-line treatment in ocular rosacea. Intense pulsed light hasn’t been studied in ocular rosacea yet but has shown promising results in meibomian gland dysfunction treatment.
